We will. We aren’t mere observers on the sidelines, we’re a part of this equation too, and nobody is coming to save us. You, reading this right now. If you aren’t organized, join an org. Doesn’t matter what it is. Volunteer, protest, do whatever it is that fits you best, but do SOMETHING.

I guess a fascist takeover is a lot for some people. Either way, I hope as many people can stay positive as possible. They want us demoralized.

I’ve been getting this too. It’s driven me away from BlueSky a little, but i do like the positive aspects where i get them.

I work in environmental consulting and I often feel like I have a solarpunk job except inverted. I take samples and collect data of soil and water, but my customers are corps so my companies focus isn’t actually on the environment, but on helping them to not get fined.

I present option 3:

A solarpunk future where the Oligarchy fell. It's not perfect, there's still conflict but though it was hard to get to, it's nice.

At least that's what I hope.

destroying tech companies profit margins while providing open source software is certainly solarpunk asf!! (but hopefully we can find a less energy intensive way to run LLMs)

better yet, join / start a union at your job. you can’t revolt alone, but you and your coworkers can certainly act together to achieve something.

start an angry crowd then. many people want a revolution but nobody wants to be the person to actually start it.

+ organize!! if you know even one likeminded person, get together and do something. hand out pamphlets, bake bread for the needy, start a repair shop, etc. we can’t do this alone.

I think people are tired of politics. Of course, thats the point of the current system and we WILL have to organize before we can stop being exhausted by it, but it does make it hard.
