In April 2025, more than 32,000 AmeriCorps service members had their service prematurely cut short when the government terminated nearly $400 million in grants. The service these members provided to communities in the US was invaluable, with many serving full-time for as little as $1,300 a month.

We will most likely continue to see conditional funding on AC programs nationwide with a lot of programs shutting down for not being able to meet those conditions. If your program is hosted by a very progressive NGO or government agency then there is cause to be worried about your service term.

What We Do Know:
As of currently (03/12/25) AmeriCorps is not going to be cut as an Agency. If the Appropriations act passes the senate, the Agency will lose ~$80,000,000. Current AC members should not expect any monetary changes.
