So fabulous to spend this semester with Pam Brown’s lab for my sabbatical! What a merry bunch of scientists working at the New Pole.

We explore the differences in the early divisome between E. coli and current proteobacterial systems and argue that core functions and not core genes are generally conserved. In fact, using gene conservation and essentiality is problematic and may distort our understanding.
