This checks out to me, but also "she went to the hospital" does suggest at least the possibility of transience to me. Like for "she went to the hospital and is now staying there" I'd say "she was hospitalised" or "she's in the hospital" (different from "she's at the hospital")

Although, thinking some more, I suppose if the media reaction doesn't explicitly include some pushback against open identification with fascism, those in Trump's orbit could take it as a sign that fascism is less taboo now than they'd thought and respond accordingly, forcing media to make a decision
