No, media definitely wasn't doing a good job. But just bc there is too much bias in media doesn't mean it's flat out wrong or lies. It means people should do their research to understand facts of each situation and make their own judgement. But that's asking way too much of the average American.

It's bc the first thing Trump did in 2015-16 was relentlessly attack the media. He successfully discredited the media so anything he says or does is eaten up by his followers and they ignore anything reported on him they don't like bc "media is out to get Trump". Straight out the fascist playbook.
