We are seeking a student to join us on our journey to understand how life works. In recent years, we have developed new tools to follow proton transfer reactions in bioenergetic and enzymatic systems.

It all started a couple of years ago in a discussion with Mario Mencia about proton transfer in bacterial membranes vs. archaeal ones. I told him we can give it a go, and we found some interesting, unexpected capability of ether lipids to support proton diffusion.

I want to thank the Technion in Israel, which will always be my second home and where I have made so many good friends. Making that decision was one of my hardest, and I am sad that the state of my home country has pushed me away from the workplace I love so much. ->

It is one of these black science magic that you don't understand in the beginning how this counter-intuitive thing can work, but suddenly it does. Congrats to Amit and Ziyu for this achievement.
