The Betty Crocker Recipe Card Library! My mom had one and each month, new specially tested recipes would arrive in the mail. I remember a lady bug cake I wanted for my birthday. Sadly never got it but, was subject to weekly stuffed peppers for years.

I love this series. I’d also recommend the Edward the King series from 1975 with the brilliant Timothy West and Annette Crosbie as Victoria.

My son was in a play at the Lyceum (built 1902). Have no idea where a cast of 50 plus would dress. The backstage is pretty tight. He shared a space (and I’m being generous) with four other actors. Maybe the Imperial owned space next door? Or by 1923, they worked out those issues.

Lazy Susans! They would fill turn table-like trays with onions, carrots, radishes and all kinds of other veggies. Always came out with your first cocktail.

This is a fancy place. They have Hors d’Oeuvres! I’ll have to indulge with the artichoke hearts in olive oil, green onions, followed by the brook trout. Oh yes- and a gin martini with a twist. Assorted Italian cookies sound great with a strong coffee to finish the meal.

I would first like to travel back in time and advise Carpenter’s to trademark that “Whooper” burger. Then I would sit back and enjoy the tomato and bacon sandwich followed by the black and white sundae.

When the cold weather sets in, we have chili Saturdays and make a different recipe each time. However, my turkey chili recipe is circa 1996 and is always in that rotation. Lots of Penzeys chili powder and cumin give it good level of heat.
