One of my favorite videos from Game Maker's Tools is the Ori and Will of the Wisps sand level, because the dev goes in a lenghty conversation how you get inspiration from pen and paper, when your ideas are implemented and how you get new ideas while refining everything:

One time AMD updated their drivers and activated the fake frame generator without my notice. Hollow Knight went from 120fps to 305, but with a nightmare of stuttering, making it unplayable. It was the same with Rune Factory 6, just pure garbage

I think Metroid is best when it's exploration with some horror sprinkled on it. Super Metroid, Metroid Prime 1 and Metroid Dread being the games that people like the most and they have suspense and bit of horror

In part, it's death of the author, especially when her appearances in previous games had consistency about how to show her, so people expected more of that.
The other part is capitalism. "I don't like your product, so you either change it or I won't buy it", just so thousands of people said that.

Although the beginning of Dread where Adam says "mate, this bounty hunting is paying shit for the risk" makes it funny in retrospect

I do feel that the idea of Nintendo wasn't entirely diluted when Retro made the prime games. The fact that she throws Phazon up completely overwhelmed and still goes on, or the ending of MP2 shows she's altruistic as fuck. Not necessarily motherly, but sure she's altruistic

I'd add that if you get them watch Airplane! or Naked Gun before, the chances of them enjoying Kung Pow are increased

I don't mind the looting or the lack of it, but I yearn for games to have bosses that are massively defeated in explosions. Contra 3 has every boss to explode in such a satisfying way, i dunno why we stopped doing it

One of my friends bought Z-A at launch and he just spends the time trying combinations for the PvP mode, fixing IVs and strats. Positive fun, and I'm guessing it's the same for a vast number of people
