3 years ago today Russia waged its further invasion of Ukraine. I arrived in Geneva to the news and co-led a meeting at the U.S. Mission with the Ukraine Ambassador. I then led the U.S. in walking out on Lavrov. For three years we stood resolutely with Ukraine against Putin’s unlawful aggression.

13 years ago today my daughter, Zoë Taylor, won a World Cup race for the United States. Mad respect for the sacrifices athletes and their families make to reach elite athlete status. There is also a flip side. Read her OpEd in the NYT here (she is Zoë Ruhl now): www.nytimes.com/2021/08/06/o...

This Holocaust Remembrance Day, I am reminded that my family legacy of tragedy and survival is what drives me to promote human rights for all.

Today the world has lost an indefatigable warrior, fierce and compassionate and deeply committed to the rights of everyone, especially but not only when the rights of women were threatened. Now, more than ever, the world needs that kind of spirit. May her memory serve as a blessing and a call to act
