A smöl bean joined the family yesterday - an early birthday surprise from my husband.
His colors are stunning and impossible to capture. He's in shed and adjusting to life in quarantine as I build his bioactive and figure out his name.

I'm horrible at any kind of social media, so here's another mundane photo of my days.
This is the substrate for the bioactive enclosure: top soil, sand, cypress mulch, coconut chips, and sphagnum moss. I'm ridiculously excited to start putting all of the pieces together for the habitat.

As it turns out, having some critters that love food you're allergic to is much more fun than countertop composting.
