Wait- you lost me...who is "Mr. Cardamom?"
A Simpson's character?
November 9, 2025 at 12:59 AM
Exactly- that's the way to go! Put that money behind a public option! Let's Go!!
November 8, 2025 at 4:30 PM
Me too. In the Bay Area, that Emeryville Denny's was notorious for treating young Black customers like trash. Sooo- we just went to Nation's. Never Going Back.

I'd like the tax credits to last as long as the Trump tax cuts for the rich. Please and thank you.

I agree that we need to stand up on this every time. I can do better with this 4 sure

Nothing wrong with a "yes...and", right!?!

Yes, built immigrants AND mos def built by folks that did not chose to come here, did not see this place as a land of golden oppty, only a hellscape.

Don't forget us!

So, I guess I'm saying that I wonder how NYC will turn out. The truth is that "immigrants" often do not wish to acknowledge the journey, unique challenges and contributions of people like me.

However, to the mayor-elect's credit, he appears to be learning.

Let's hope!

I think about my dad who told me stories of his boyhood in western PA (1940's). The immigrant children would be assigned to native borns like him to learn English and such. He said one of the first words they would learn in "n*gger".

I appreciate the point, @jazzisblue.bsky.social ! I can only speak for myself, but when leaders ignore my kidnapped, trafficked and enslaved ancestors who toiled for generations in building this thing, I feel it. How you get here matters. Often "immigrants" come here and separate themselves from us.

Thank you :)

Downloaded Vibe Check to listen to on the train tomorrow. Wondering if this will be your weekly rec there?

We'll see! My vibes will be on either way!

(Disclaimer- this is not feedback, so it's ok, yes?)

So sad.

I know that these white guys are big mad that the Age of Whiteness is rapidly coming to an end but why not insist on high quality candidates with policies that benefit everyone? Why support trash people and trash ideas?

Even white girls are starting to wake up.

Black women been knew.

I'd even kick in 10 bucks toward their gruel.

Once.

I am very concerned about my insurance for next year.
Please hold firm.

Anyone with a brain cell knows these republicans cannot be trusted or negotiated with.
November 6, 2025 at 12:39 AM
That's me!

@jazzisblue.bsky.social holding in down in these streets!!

Yes, we are thinking about Whiteness as an idea, and "white" as a status. People, of course, are just people.

Whiteness promises advantage to some, but at great cost to nearly everyone, including those who achieve "white".
November 5, 2025 at 4:45 PM
I agree with this observation as well. I think you are pointing out the power of choice.

I see the folly of patriarchy and I wonder what it is about a person's culture or experiences that made them believe this was the best way.

When I look around today I still wonder. There are so many ways to go
November 5, 2025 at 4:39 PM
If Cali goes, I'm moving back home- cost of living be damned!

(Yeah, prob have to live with family but whatever!)

Then I'll have enough for those bridge tolls!
almost.

Ok, lemme figure this out. But keep us posted, please!
November 5, 2025 at 5:58 AM
Honestly, you can do it. Remember, the career pros keep things from falling apart, and you will learn.

It's okay if you don't want to. But know you CAN do it.
November 5, 2025 at 5:43 AM
And when they do I, for one, will NOT be watching/listening/reading/caring.
November 5, 2025 at 5:40 AM
Hmmmm, maybe you can take me back to old Virginny. How's that lawn looking?

Wait, maybe the state song has changed since I lived there- I'll look into it later....

Congrats and well done! The people of VA deserve The Best!!
November 5, 2025 at 5:33 AM
Absolutely needs to be said.

Never forget. (Well, I aint never ever gonna forget or forgive.)
November 5, 2025 at 5:28 AM
Staying focused on what's real.

Attending meetings and getting real/true facts.

Saving these folks from themselves.
November 5, 2025 at 5:23 AM
Right? It's the entire flaw in ratings-based commercial news.

I remember when cable news was the new, shiny object but it has always been flawed. It's over- on to the next!

I hold the adults who vote (or should vote) responsible but I am not letting these media sources off hook.
