Your friendly neighborhood anarchist mechanic. 🏳️‍⚧️pronouns: she/her
Calling it a tracking system is a bit unfair tbh. It's a SOLAS requirement to keep her from being mowed down by a supertanker or some shit. Maybe this is a battle we shouldn't fight lmao.

Just, how? Wait, I don't think we really want to know, it may crumble the few shreds of hope that somebody competent may be involved somewhere in the chain.

I mean, you got a lot going against this kind of shit. For one the local pigs are gonna call it a booby trap and you're gonna cop a charge. Two, it's impractical because anything you can pack in, a $200/day backhoe can push away and they'll hand the keys to anybody.

That much stickout in the 1/2" rebar is gonna bend all to shit as soon as it's hit. The whole unit may weigh 85 pounds with 80 pounds of concrete in it, I'd be surprised if the legs didn't splay out under its own weight. You can make much better use of rebar than that.

It played well to the "culture in crisis" though. My hometown (a few counties over from Breathitt) lost their collective minds over it. Pretty sure the library bought more copies than active patrons, people were demanding it be made mandatory reading for high school lit, etc

To be entirely up front though, the FCC are absolutely vicious to anyone trying that on the amateur band and hams will hunt somebody down. A low power FM broadcast band transmitter is much easier to get away with (especially if you keep it mobile) and will probably have more impact.

Depending on your area, there's already a non-insignificant fash presence on both the amateur band (in spite of ~everything~ that makes that a bad idea) and CB (where anything goes). If you can find a kilowatt+ linear for less than your first born I wouldn't be the one crying about it lol.

I genuinely wonder how many people realize they're paying for Windows with their PC. Granted I mostly deal with people who think computers are just magic boxes, but the general vibe is it's a freebie thrown in with the computer like a car dealership paper floormat.

Honestly? I'd start with dual booting unless you're starved for space. Most mainstream distros make resizing a windows partition pretty much pain free during the initial install. Especially if you're reliant on streaming for your income, as getting everything tweaked initially can be an experience.

Lookin pretty good, a lot more organized than my mess right now. I'm still staying in the shepherds shack so most of my tools are packed away in the old school house. And it's community garden season so been getting a lot of tractor seat time lol.

I didn't realize McCormick ever used Wisconsin motors on their balers. I've got an International C60 on a McCormick #50 but it's always lacked horsepower, even a THD or something would be a huge improvement.

Shit, you too? Like looking back, it was a time sink and a half and there was plenty of toxicity to go around, but I've still got friends I text more regularly than my own family that I found in-game.

I don’t want to tempt fate, because I usually get the job of yanking dipshits outta the creek, but it would almost be worth the pain to see someone really try in a Cybertruck lol.

Discord is really the only option there I use semi regularly. But, using it to do something like that feels clunky? It's okay for stuff like spamming memes at one another but the UI is pretty annoying for doing anything serious with. Like it'd be a fight to convince myself the effort was worth it.

Phenergan (promethazine) ~was~ the gold standard a few decades ago before more modern drugs got a generic variant. They aren’t always as effective, and the side effect profile (esp drowsiness) makes them less desirable, but they do work. I still kinda miss it lol.

First gen antihistamines tend to work the best out of OTC options in my experience, assuming you aren't in a legal weed state. Promethazine is RX only but I've had decent luck out of diphenhydramine and dimenhydrinate when I've not had access to Zofran in a pinch.

Spent the day discing here. Still a wee bit wet, but kinda wanna get the first field of potatoes in the ground this weekend if the replacement chain for the planter comes in tomorrow like it's supposed to.

Whatcha using to de-varnish btw? My go-to is Chem-Dip in an ultrasonic cleaner but when they're that bad, it usually takes a couple cycles even with heat.

~Planting season~. I've got four tractors to get into shape because we're down to just the Massey functioning semi-normally even tho it's got a valve cover leak, I've got the drills to go through, the potato planter broke a chain and well, it's just me doing the wrenching lol.
March 25, 2024 at 5:32 PM
Friend, I'm right there with you. Add in absolutely fucking a casting and that sounds a lot like my morning lol.
March 25, 2024 at 5:07 PM
Almost like you read my mind lol. Have been dealing with a spate of "farmer fixes" for the past few days and it's about to drive me up the wall.
March 25, 2024 at 4:54 PM
Tbh I'd prefer a less messy method myself if they expand the options. Absolutely hate cleaning up blood, the coppery smell always knocks me off balance lol.

It's weird, and kinda spooky, but same. And, roughly the same time period too. It felt like I was losing what little control I had left of my life and honestly, idk if things would have ended well. It must be something about our makeup because my little sister couldn't handle it either.
