Today I did 996ft of elevation gain in 2.2 miles. Not the steepest, but the most I’ve done thus far! Next weekend I plan on climbing my first (small) mountain! #hiking #unlikelyhikers #fitnessjourney

My personal trainer is Black, genderqueer (AFAB), was fat (so they personally understand my body) and backpacks! It’s like the universe created them out of the ether specifically for me. They are excited to help me get to my dream backpacking trip in Patagonia!

Having braids changes how the world treats me. I get death stares and asks to touch my hair. When my hair is braided, they know I’m #Black, and that I’m leaning into my culture. In turn, they become bolder with their #racism. The election has emboldened their bigotry. #blackhistorymonth #braids
