You're still served even if
you didn't touch the papers,
you threw them on the ground,
you chased after the process server and put them on her windshield--or made your kid do it (yeah, that happened once),
or she gave them to somebody you live with (who you maybe told to say you weren't there). 😉

California attorneys: Do you rely on the process server to fill out this portion of your summons? For “individual” defendants it’s obvious and easy, but what about business defendants? www.amberhowepi.com/tips/summons...

I love coming to this Shell gas station & car wash on the corner of El Camino Real and Sneath in San Bruno. It has a vegan food truck on site, underwater theme statues and murals lining the car wash driveway, and for some reason a dinosaur eating a guy in a suit. And reggae! 🎵

Evading the process server? When people pretend they're not home, attorneys will ask process servers to find defendants or witnesses at their jobs and/or stake out their locations. Then add the cost to whatever they're suing for. Just open the door!

I cannot hack into someone's phone, e-mail or social media accounts. It's not legal and I don't even know how. But if you have an open court case, you can subpoena for info from the service provider(s) about someone relevant to that case.

This article I wrote for ServeNow in 2010 about social media catching on as an investigation tool seems so quaint now: www.serve-now.com/articles/36/...
Process Servers Flocking to Social Media as a Skiptracing Tool
Who hasn't "Googled an ex" by now? Or found a long-lost friend on a social networking site like Facebook or MySpace? Sometimes it's hard to believe that as recently as thirty years ago, technology for...

I can locate someone and ask them to contact you. But I cannot *make* them contact you, or do whatever it is you need from them.

Any other PIs using IRB and/or Delvepoint (owned by the same company)? Seems like every few searches return BAD RESULTS and I get billed. I have to open a chat agent and ask for the credit back. Wastes so much time! Is this happening for anyone else?
