This is exceptionally fucking dumb, but I didn't understand how 'lives' worked in games. I played Crash Bandicoot for the Gameboy Advance until I came to the first enemy (a crab I think) and then cried because I didn't think I'd spin them without dying and assumed I'd never be able to play again lol
