Drove 8 hrs to handle some estate stuff. #vegan Applebee's carside-to-go for the win.

Today was bad. On top of trying to figure out kid stuff, I learned the mail forwarding for my dad didn't go through. I received a STACK of mail with several delinquent payment notices.

I made these cookies to try and feel better earlier, but now I don't even want to eat them.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. They're taking everything they can get their hands on & daring the world to stop them. On April 5th, we're taking to the streets nationwide to say: Hands Off! #HandsOff #April5

Class was actually energizing. The grad students led us in a Wikipedia race and challenged us to write with something not usually used for writing. I wrote it's hot cocoa. Then, I taught them how to crochet and introduced them to coding. Much fun was had!

How I'm ending spring break: The book I'm reading is in the basement, but I'm trapped under a sleeping greyhound.

Today's the last day to register for the Writing Innovation Symposium happening NEXT WEEK!

If you arrive on Wed., you can even attend my talk, #SourdoughRhetoric: Multisensory Media Traces That Are Good Enough to Eat, where you'll smell, touch, taste, and take sourdough home with you.

This winter break, I'm actually taking time off for the first time since I was an undergrad. It started with a trip to Cancun. I have course and writing center prep to do, but it's nice to plan no work days.

Last week, I veganized and packaged up frosted ginger snaps, pretzel swirl brownies, and sugar sugar cookies for the writing center consultants. With 1041 appointments this semester, they deserved a last-week-of-class treat.

A wonderful day for this semester's Coffee & Doughnuts event at the UWC!

The space was buzzing ☕

Couch time after an 11 hr day that concluded with a magnificent writing center event. I'm tired, but I truly love my job.

We had a snow day that was not a work-from-home day in disguise. I cuddled the little greyhound, played videogames, napped, and shoveled. Now it's time for coffee and reading. A lovely unexpected break!

My mom would've been 64 today, so I made brownies and ate the best piece (the middle). I always did this as a kid, and she'd laugh when she lifted the foil and saw the middle square missing.

I hung my spring availability sign while waiting for students to submit their final websites. Sign-hanging subtext: Dr. B is ready for break.

Bought myself a fancy wireless clicky keyboard and mouse. Maybe new tech will motivate me to finish my article.

Me: This article is a hot mess, but I have things to add and am ready to go!
My computer: Nope.

Dealing with hospitals and childcare is exhausting, so I made a big comforting #vegan burrito bowl. AND I bought two bags of tortilla chips that I don't have to share with anyone.

How I spent my weekend: First, I made Christina Tosi's butterscotch pecan cookies from All About Cookies. Then, I ate said cookies while editing a webtext's HTML and CSS. I always need a bit of sweetness to balance digital work.
