Picked it up after hearing Marty gush about it on Firelink... Only one episode in, but I'm loving it. Gorgeous and charming. 100% agree that the lack of walking segments actually helps the game, and cuts away on "empty calories".

Still Wakes the Deep last year was a banger, so I am not afraid about the devs' writing chops and game atmosphere. We'll see how The Chinese Room will handle gameplay, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them. 🤞

I'm hoping Patel's words that the team's happy with sales is not just PR speak. This game, and the studio, deserve recognition and I am sad and angry that it has been yet another target of incel chuds hate campaign.

Meh. It's a mediocrity in a pretty packaging. Dull levels, combat feels sluggish, enemies are either too easy and boring (grunts) or too spongey with tough to read attacks(bosses). IMO it's 2024's Atomic Heart - beautiful, but hollow. Seems like totalitarian governments aren't good for making art. 🤔

The game hasn't come out yet. Ubi have tons of talented employees that haven't been able to deliver because the C suite wanted to churn these games at an unreasonable pace... This will come 4,5 years after last mainline AC game. So hype is more understandable than your comment. Let people have fun.

They came up with their own catch 22 - woke games do not sell, so when they sell they are not woke games.

I had a very smart person explain to me that BG3 is fine because it "only contains woke elements" vs e.g. Veilguard which has "a woke core". Which is why it flopped (according to "sources")...

Nah. They're racist AF. And dumb; try reasoning with them and you'll only lose your sanity while they talk about "coddling blacks and gay" (or womenz - your mileage may vary). They should be moderated into oblivion, but websites depend on traffic, and nothing brings traffic like culture war...

Just finished Spider-Man 2, hopeful to finish Veilguard before a courier delivers Metaphor next week... Speaking of couriers, maybe some Death Stranding on the deck. And Persona 5. And some Stalker 2. Good thing I'm sick and the weekend doesn't end with Sunday for me... :D
