It's handy if you have 5 or fewer items and don't wanna wait behind brimming shopping carts. Sure, im gonna check myself out three times slower, but the time works in your favor the moment the other checkouts have 10 or more items lined up.

What im saying is, safe rules come after something is made, than when the rule is old ppl forget why they had it and repeal it, than establish it again, its a cycle

They would have tried that even without autopilot. Autopilot or not, if something happens to the one guy that can fly, you are equally screwed.
