When I heard Predator Badlands would have a Yautja protagonist, include the Alien universe, and be a PG-13/12a movie I was very sceptical. But I was so wrong. The film is a absolute delight, I would happily take a sequel, and I hope Dan Trachtenberg keeps getting to build an play in this universe.

The Nazi giving the speech here sounds very similar to a certain US President using similar propaganda, lies, and division.

Reading an issue of Superman from 1998, set in the Golden Age, and boy does this issue with its look at rising fascism in the United States, Nazi rallies, and selling out your morals feel like it's trying to give a message America needs to hear today.

Okay, so her books are filled with casual racism and homophobia, she definitely hates transpeople, she wrote a script where the villain wants to stop the Holocaust and the heroes make sure they don't, has engaged in Holocaust denial, and frequently quotes Hitler? Seems like a Nazi to me 🤷♀️

Watching The Blues Borthers for the first time tonight and not only is the film an absolute delight, but has a pair of criminals as the heroes trying to help orphans, has cops as bumbling villains, and says a big fuck you to Nazis. If this was made today it'd be called 'woke garbage'. Love it.

Yeah, that absolutely fits as he'd be a challenge for both of them physically and intellectually, so them coming together to beat him makes sense. I love Brainiac and if they go with him it'd be really cool to see which version they use. Or maybe do a House of Brainiac and do a few.

Due to a lack of official merch I've been crocheting some Twin Peaks stuff, such as my big plushy log. I got an idea in my head that I knew was borderline unhinged, but I was also bored and had to do it, so I made a plushy Laura Palmer.

I have four favourites, Storm, Nightcrawler, Wolverine (Laura), but Magneto is probably my top right now. Probably because of the rise in fascism, because my country is fighting to take rights away from my minority group, but his willingness to punch a Nazi to death is extra inspiring now.

Recent graphic novel purchases/complimentary copies. My Superman collection is getting even bigger now thanks to these lovely two omnibus collections. The second Triangle Era omnibus in October is going to add a big chunk, and will be my biggest graphic novel by far.

Finished watching Superman and Lois tonight after missing it when it aired and boy did that final episode destroy me. I cried so hard, it was one of the best endings to one of the best shows I've seen. This was a fantastic adaptation of the characters, and more people should watch it.

My copy of Wild Hearts S arrived a day early and I didn't expect it to work because it's a game-key card, but looks like I can play it before release 😁

Other than the shape of the body this was all me trying stuff and seeing what worked, and about half of the doll was done without a pattern or direction and so whilst it's not perfect I'm absolutely over the moon with how well she came out.

I've been testing out making some crochet dolls, and I've started making some custom character dolls for the player characters in our Dungeons and Dragons game. First up is the half orc barbarian Helga.
