I think we are far far further down the line than that. The United States is basically split between Vichy France (the territory that collaborated with the Nazis) and Free France (the parts of France that remained free of Nazi rule).

it depends on their race and who they shot. Before George Floyd and Derek Chauvin, there was a Somali police officer who shot a white woman. There was absolutely no controversy about charging the Black police officer and he got a lengthy jail sentence.

We are at war in our own country and have been since first Trump admin. DC is now Vichy France. Places like IL, CA, MN are Free France/Resistance. All I can do is work locally in the resistance. There is no quick end to this chaos. There is no offramp. There is only forward.

yeah they weren’t online getting upset over every outrage that they couldn’t control. Each group hyper focused on things that they could control, which usually was local to them, and threw as much sand in the machine machinery as they could.

it has a plan but there’s no one that has the cult like support that can take over from Trump. Trump dies, his supporter scatter. I really think that’s what Venezuela is all about - the money supporting him knows he’s dying and wants their wish list done before he dies.

I agree he is all those things - but seriously do you know how many military members it would take to subdue 48 states? He does not have that manpower. What we basically have is the Vichy government versus free France. He will never control all the states - only the ones where he has enablers.

it’s not a feigned retreat - he only succeeds where he has enablers just like any other bully. He does not have the manpower to occupy 48 continental states. He’s gotten pushed back everywhere he’s attempted this bullshit and it has stalled him.

i’m getting sick of people acting like there isn’t active resistance going on in the country right now and acting like he’s just getting everything he wants. He isn’t. To not celebrate our wins and act like everything is going his way is a huge huge problem. And yes that makes me very angry.

I agree but I have a curious question. It seems like everyone in Washington knows Trump is on borrowed time. His supporters are trying to get their wish list completed before he dies. I wonder if the Democrats are just waiting for him to die.

The only thing that comes remotely close is the Iran-Contra hearings where some members of the administration were scapegoated for the actions of the president. I’m not saying that those folks were not guilty of crimes -but they were actually prosecuted and went to jail. And the president was not.
