Archaeologist, artist, indie dev ... librarian?
I temporarily took the roof off of the south aisle (but left the trusses in place - also, if you look closely, textures are starting to appear) and I was just really struck by the quality of light and shadow playing across the font cover. Thought I'd share. #medievalsky #archviz

More progress on the parish church model. I think it was the right call to extend it one more bay. Now to start on textures...

Do archaeological visualizations of places in the past count as #SciArt ?

Had a go at bench ends today. Haven't used zBrush in years. This is a decent start (though I might redo the poppyhead). The bench end is based very directly on the amazing, chonky set that survives at St George, Stowlangtoft.

Just another render test - no materials, everything very WIP - but I thought it looked fun. And, hey, it's #fontsonfriday so...

Added the loft. It's a copy-paste cheat but will probably be sufficient from a distance. The focus of this project is the font cover waaaay at the other end of the nave anyway...

A version of the screen at Ranworth! I'll build the loft next. Also, forgive the render - I'm playing with settings for funsies.
(Lovingly modeled polygon-by-polygon because that's the only way this detail stuff works for me...)

This is the full wireframe of this window - which is one of the aisle windows from East Harling church in Norfolk. Can you see where the dragon heads come from?

I kinda love how parts of the wireframes of medieval window tracery look like badass dragon heads. Maybe this should be my profile picture...

Intro time (v2)!
Hi, I'm Anthony. I'm an archaeologist and medievalist by training, an artist specializing in reconstructing the past, and a digital curator by current profession. I also make games which always seem to be about ruins and time travel.

Hi! Yep, I'm still making this game. You would be amazed at how complicated time travel turns out to be...
