This is a plumbate funerary urn. It was found with the cremated remains of an individual inside it, which makes sense considering the role dogs played with death for the mexica.
This kind of clay was rich in iron and was baked with such high temperatures that it got that glossy texture.

Son éstos pequeños recipientes de cerámica que se encuentran en la mayoría de conjuntos habitacionales en buen número y en un espacio temporal bastante extenso, también. Desde los orígenes al colapso.
