This team is a mess. The front office has horribly misjudged the talent that they have “accumulated” and where this team ranks in relation to the rest of the league. In 4 years management is back to square 1. 😬

This team is not good. Also, not likeable. MAGA loving players, no dynamic personalities and really no ability to even sell hope for a better future to the fan base. Tickets on the secondary market could be bought for $60 tonight. I couldn’t be bothered. Not a good look for the organization.

Let’s see MAGA loving players, players struggling to live up to their contract values, a know it all president, a potentially leaving (but fantastic player) captain, a poor prospect system and a meddling owner. Pretty tough to care about this team.

I don’t think there’s a flag to seize. I’m not so sure there is much crossover between the 2 fan bases. Most ‘Caps fans I know couldn’t care less about the Canucks and vice versa.
Personally I feel the ‘Caps are earning new supporters while the Canucks are alienating existing fans.

At the moment I believe the issue isn’t so much structure as the system vs the players. I think Foote’s read and react system is a good one that could lead to regular season and playoff success WITH the right players. Unfortunately it’s painfully obvious the Canucks don’t have enough quality players

So… I missed this game and find myself not really caring. The likeability of this team isn’t very high. MAGA loving players, overpaid players, underperforming players, a team that doesn’t outwork the opposition, no excitement on the ice, lack of dynamic youngsters. It’s not a good product

Credit where credit is due….. Apart from the Messi debacle last year, the Caps do a good job of creating loyalty amongst their supporters and trying to recruit new ones. It’s a good product. It’s too bad the AppleTV contract prevents so many people from discovering it in the local market.

Unfortunately what you witnessed is all to common. Who’s to blame? Too much screentime? Not enough modeling of proper team play? Apathetic parents? Parents living vicariously through their kids? Lack of team and league accountability? I don’t know but it’s embarrassing, shameful and wrong
