Ugh. Those safety features make driving here unsafe. I disabled the auto stop after the car slammed the brakes because of a change in pavement color. There is one curve on the interstate where the cruise control slams on the brakes because it detects the guard rail as an obstacle.

We call ours "the oh, sh$t blanket." Mostly used for impromptu picnics and also handy on a couple of camping trips

As an alum of an SEC uni, I can relate to your second point. My alma mater has won championships the generations before and after I attended. I was there during the losing years.

We only use the seed cylinders when we go out of town. Otherwise, we just fill the tray in that feeder.

Ah. We haven't had squirrels yet, so I can't speak to that. We added the house feeder last year and that increased the variety of backyard birds. Our feeders and poles are from Wild birds unlimited

This is serious stuff. When we lived in NC, we'd plan our fall hikes around leaf peeping. Best one ever was hiking Stone Mountain State Park and seeing the leaves at higher elevation at their peak. Worth the 5 hour round trip drive. May your fall be filled with equally gorgeous views!

5 in black is only for my planner. 1 in purple for grading. Any other pen that writes and isn't a marker for everything else at work will do.

I love mine. No more eye strain at work. I kept an older pair with transitions lenses that just corrects distance vision, which I use for sports (mountain biking, rock climbing, paddle boarding, hiking). The best of both worlds!

Yes, please. Would happily help coordinate the let's go outside and be or play time: napping in hammocks, sipping while sitting by the fire, hiking, biking, etc.

Especially in the middle of a class. In intro bio we work on interpreting models such as how enzymes or natural selection work. I can sketch them from memory, no problem. But the words. Where are the words?! A few students thought I paused for extremely long times to let them take notes.

This is the first American goldfinch at our feeder since we put it up last year

This is my favorite feature of the binoculars my husband gave me. I used to wear contacts. Now I wear glasses. Happy birding!

As a former college academic advisor, I used to politely suggest that they investigate degree and federal financial aid requirements. For some STEM majors, finishing your gen ed courses in high school jeopardizes your ability to meet the required degree-pursuant hours each semester.

There is a subset of folks that are allergic to things that exist year round and then seasonal allergies just pile it on. So, I'm with you on year round allergy meds.

A juvenile bald eagle stopped by one morning. A not so great photo taken with my camera phone through binoculars
