My partner works in an urban elementary school in a sanctuary city that has a very high percentage of immigrant kids. Last week they had to send these home with every student. Today I’m reading on local message boards that ICE is already out and patrolling our area. This is fucking sick.

It’s been 12 yrs since a gunman killed 20 first graders and 6 teachers/administrators at Sandy Hook. We still don’t have universal background checks. We still allow sale of semiautomatic weapons to Americans. In fact, I’d argue that many of our gun laws are looser now than then. Total failure.
