My mom is 75 and she did it until she moved and had to get rid of ALOT. I call it a generational habit. Her parents kept everything and all my aunts and uncles kept everything. It was like breaking a generational curse when I stopped holding onto stuff.

Not in my house. I know first hand- your family cannot grieve the loss of you when they are stressed about a hoard they now have to clean
