One of my favorite winter photography moments happened here. I had dreamed of capturing this location for years, but I could never have imagined such a perfect scene! It was a brutally cold morning, but the hike in before sunrise was absolutely worth it!

This view stopped me in my tracks while on a hike in Sequoia National Park. A tough image to develop as I could just play and tweak it forever. I am still enjoying what comes of it.

Daydreaming about Colorado has been a regular occurrence since my first visit many years ago. It’s increased since my first fall peak visit this year. 🤩 I am currently toying with the idea of visiting during three different seasons next year… 😅

New Mexico ranks high on my list of favorite states to explore. Its vibrant and diverse landscapes make every adventure a memorable one.

It doesn't get much better than waking up to find yourself above the clouds.

A glimpse into my neck of the woods - Southern Appalachia. For years, I’ve guided private photography tours here, sharing the most breathtaking views and my lifelong love for both this land and the art of photography.

I flew my drone over the glowing aspens in Colorado during golden hour and captured this moment at peak fall time. Spot Dot and I? (Dot is the name of my little hybrid adventure-mobile. ⚪️)

I love to be in the forests around - but it's even more calming when it's snowing.

Ok, I lied… THIS is the actual first time I first captured the northern lights! My NM northern lights share is just a lot more northern light-y ;-), but I still LOVE this shot captured in Telluride during fall peak. Peep the glowing aspens… Perfect timing for sure!🤩 #canonr5

Last winter, one of my favorite shots was taken with my old Fujifilm X100V in Key West. I love capturing street photography and candid portraits with that camera. Now that I've upgraded to the X100VI, I'm excited for more winter street photography during my off-season tour starting in mid-January!

My favorite and most challenging hike of 2024: 30ish miles hiked exploring the Havasupai Rez in AZ

Cherry on top: it was specifically funded by a wedding I shot in Sedona. 👌🫠

I thought I would share a few of my favorite wintertime views that I've captured over the years. I tend to do most of my exploring and adventuring in the winter. I used to dread winter, but it is now arguably my favorite season for many reasons. I have the most freedom to roam then, for starters.
