Teaching “DH in the Classroom” at DREAM Lab @pricelab.bsky.social was a rewarding experience. Fantastics students, the best collaborator @betovargas.github.io, and friends old and new. We covered a huge range of topics, but here’s a peek at the game we made in the #DHMakes unit.

Last week we celebrated @cathyndavidson.bsky.social, a mentor whose support and advocacy is unparalleled. The joke was that she must have clones, because she offers such personal, genuine attention to every request that it seems impossible (especially if you 👀 at her pubs). Thank you Cathy ❤️👏

Tomorrow is the biggest VR event we’ve ever done! My team made a custom canopy tour of Scott Arboretum and will be assessing learning engagement with the Kid Lab at Swarthmore. Super excited and very nervous 🤞

Can we talk about how this little measuring tape from @rarebookschool.bsky.social is the most handy tool in my desk drawer? 📚

When your VR workshop for a 116 person archeology class goes exceedingly well, you get a treat #DH

She may look angelic, but this devil scratched me across my nose on a week when I have four in-person presentations to give and two classes to teach 😇😈

So proud of our Makerspace team, especially Josh Jordan, who designed our winning #DouglassDay cakes! Thank you @douglassday.bsky.social

Our Archivist at Swarthmore @caitlinest.bsky.social created this incredible exhibit in conjunction with #DouglassDay @douglassday.bsky.social featuring items from the Friends Historical Library titled “Printing the Underground Railroad.”

Making our way through the transcriptions for #DouglassDay fueled by delicious treats! @douglassday.bsky.social

Swarthmore is ready to celebrate #DouglassDay with a packed house! We have cupcakes from a local Black-owned bakery, Kia’s, and our Makerspace laser cut stencils to make the trading cards into cookie cakes! @douglassday.bsky.social

Despite SEPTA shutting down and the laser cutter catching on fire we are hosting #DouglassDay at Swarthmore tomorrow! Come enjoy birthday treats and make history by transcribing items from the AfAm Perspectives Collections. Bonus: exhibit by @caitlinest.bsky.social! Don't miss it. #GLAM 📚

Last night I witnessed history at the swearing in ceremony for Congreswoman McBride. It is an honor to support a politician dedicated to working across the aisle to improve the lives of everyone in Delaware and across the country.

Here are some action shots of my favorite project. An engraved block from the Peace Collection we 3D scanned and recreated 3 ways - laser cut linoleum on reclaimed maple, all linoleum, and 3D printed. Thanks to @ryancordell.org and @mkirschenbaum.bsky.social for their consultation.

Reading Kim Stanley Robinson’s “The Ministry for the Future” during the current devastation in California is unsettling and eerie. This faculty/staff book club should be interesting…

I’d like to respond as one of the folks who cited this quote in a panel that 1) this story is lovely; 2) I can’t wait for your book; and 3) here is a photo of that poster made by @ryancordell.org and @quinnanya.me proudly displayed in my office!

The panels at #mla25 were 🔥, meeting up with many of you was wonderful, and the food was exceptional. It was a nourishing experience all around. A special thank you to all the MLA and Hilton staff and volunteers, and to the resilient residents of New Orleans who made it all happen.
