I'm feeling my privilege today as I step onto campus for 5th year of the pandemic, proudly & urgently wearing my FFP2 mask. I do so in the knowledge that peers in some US universities in USA are facing mask bans this academic year.

Got letter printed in @TheCanaryUK responding to shocking stats & article, 'number of British women dying during pregnancy has hit a 20-year high' which barely mentions C-19. End should've read "to prevent the loss of many more women’s lives & those of their unborn children."

Back to work on campus still masking to resist suicidal obsession w/ normalcy; to refuse to accept we are powerless; to care for myself & others & to stop worsening of 'greatest mass-disabling event in human history'.

I’m Amanda. I live in UK. I refuse to be a part of this mass disabling & killing event. Masking is act of self-protection, care & inclusion. In PDR today, I will say my biggest achievement is to break chain of transmission by not infecting colleagues or students! #CovidIsNotOver
