Absolutely! I believe us showing up in our “garb” might remind these politicians of their Sunday school days where they learned about “loving neighbor” and whatnot.

I remember being SHOCKED that Pope Francis wanted a simple “throne” instead of the gold one and did not want to live in the luxury of the Vatican. I SHOULD have been SHOCKED that the ones before didn’t question it. Or if they did, didn’t act to change it. But, I wasn’t. Lord, change our shock factor

This freeze on federal grants affects ALL of us in someway. We all have family/friends/neighbors who depend on them. Or perhaps WE were the ones who depended on the Pell grant or the reduced lunch. Call your Member Of Congress at 202-224-3121 ASAP. Make your voice heard, it really does matter.

We are losing local newspapers, radio stations, and TV stations. Because of this move, swaths of people across our region will be vulnerable during times of storms and emergency because of lack of real time communication and local weather forecasts. I pray that we discover community again.

I am all up in my feels this week of Carter’s funerals. The man was a truth teller, and he didn’t sugarcoat it or tread lightly with it. As a result, he lost his place at the table of political power, but he RETAINED his place at the table of God. Whose table are we putting our feet under? #truth
