It's pathetic, and honestly demoralising for every artist whose work is connected to this industry. This shouldn't be an artist's shame to carry, but it is, and will continue to be, until these systems change.

NEST is an expression of how I feel about home as refuge and how everyone deserves that, but it’s also an expression of my deep anger and sadness about the seizure of home, occupation of land, appropriation of food and culture, and the violence of colonisation.

NEST critically responds to the theme of home in Éamon de Valera’s 1943 radio address, ‘On Language and the Irish Nation’. The music for the piece went in a very unconscious direction of a Mass, not a Mass in the traditional sense, but I see the piece as a Mass for tenants of the past and present.
