From shelters to my heart ❤️

I do, and when I was teaching writing classes, I would bring in a book and point out the acknowledgments to my students to help them to see that a piece of writing can be the product of not only the author but of having a community of support.

If it helps at all, it’s the Wicked Witch of the East who tries to take Toto in the beginning of the movie, but Elphaba is the Wicked Witch of the West. I really love the animal liberation message in the Wicked movie, and I’ve always loved that Dorothy’s whole journey starts with saving Toto 😊

We also have a rescue named Lucy 🩷 She came from a hoarding situation of 60 dogs, and the house caught on fire. She was really shut down, but now she’s showing her sweet and silly personality more and more every day. #AdoptDontShop
