this is the watery grave at the corner of Bronson & Cooper. another flood spills over Bronson & Lisgar. ever since those dreaded stones were put in years ago, we've had flooding there. no idea why but it's a dangerous sopping mess and has been for years.

Since 2004, the Ottawa International Writers Festival has been hosting the John Newlove Poetry Award and since its beginnings in 1997, it has been providing a home to great writing.

Bywords.ca established the John Newlove Poetry Award in 2004, following the death of Prairie poet and Ottawa resident, John Newlove in 2003. Poems published between September 2024 and August 2025 were eligible for this year's award.

Every year the recipient of the previous year's John Newlove Poetry Award gets the opportunity to have a chapbook published by Bywords. Then the next year it is launched at the Ottawa International Writers Festival.

it was satisfying, inexpensive and within my own safe blood sugar level requirements. i know not everyone has a grocery store with a buffet, but if you do, this may be a great option for you.
