Every time TikTok shows me a notification that says "get inspired", I scream internally, "go back in time and don't roll over for the somehow current sitting president ." at the same time, "fuck off I just had half my colon removed because of cancer."

A chance encounter with a neighbor leads them into a little bit of sorcery that goes wildly off the rails. Like Mexican Gothic, this book is a slow burn. It starts a glacier, and it ends an avalanche. If you love that type of pacing, a sumptuous setting, and detailed character work, this book might be right up your alley. It's a story about ghosts, letting the past go, and stepping into the future wrapped up with biting wit and delicious horror. I spent most of it trying to figure out who was haunting whom.
