This is correct. We spend money on Rails World (aiming for a certain net loss after sponsorships and ticket revenue). We do not make money on it, and don't plan to.

I understand. I also heard from people in the US that couldn't attend Rails World this year because they didn't want to face immigration on the way back into the US. There's no winning here, just waiting and hoping things get better.
