I think I accidentally gave some man a complex tonight. Lemme set the scene. Security guard sitting on a stool outside a club swinging his legs. I say to him that he looks like he’s having fun. He says not really. I try to explain about his swinging legs. It makes it worse. I walk away in shame.

Yes. I am an 11th year music educator wearing a unicorn hat to keep my ears warm at this conference where people are wearing suits. Can you tell what grades I teach? 🤣

Might I recommend NOT flying immediately after having whatever brand of plague your students bestowed upon you including congestion? Not sure if my right ear will ever unplug.

Today I ordered a drink from Starbucks and also got a free tall mango dragon fruit lemonade because the lady in front of me cussed out the barista and was refused service. It literally pays (in delicious drinks and the gratitude of a tired and mistreated barista) to be a decent human being.

Hi. I am a 30-some years old (don’t make me do the math-age stopped mattering to me after 21) mother & a teacher of tiny to mid-sized humans. I have so much stress & joy & drama & excitement in my life that I choose to read cozy books that people find boring because I CRAVE a little bit of boring.

Teaching PreK-7th grade music is wild. One class I’m thanking a student for “not acting like a booty hole and singing the song right” while pointedly staring at a different student and then an hour later I’m singing 5 little ducks and reminding students to keep toys out of their mouths.

Middle school student A: I’m sick!
MS student B: me too :( me, their teacher: man, I’m sorry. It’s tough to be sick.
MS student A: Want a hug? Me: uhm. Sure? Just don’t breathe on me. *later that day when seen in the hallway*
MS student A: I’m going home. I have strep and a high fever!
Me: 🫠

Babe:”Not to sound like a burn, but who are your 6 followers?”
“RUDE!…actually…idk”
Babe:”I just haven’t heard you mention having any friends…”

I was greeted the first picture when I got home. Sent it to my husband with a “WTF” and he told me it was supposed to be a sloth before the toddler demanded he stop coloring. I attempted to turn the cryptid looking demon into a sloth. Also gave him a balloon 😂

Have I packed my 7yo’s lunch for tomorrow? No. But have I drawn him a super precious lunch note to go WITH his lunch? YES!

Nighttime with my toddler “No! Mama no touch!” Toddler proceeds to lay on my face. 🙃

Not to brag, but today I was told I was beautiful, funny, and had the singing voice of an angel. Were most of those compliments from children under the age of 8? Don’t ask questions.
