Late last night and this morning, I pivoted to working on the map.

Now I've made MORE progress and it's VISUAL! This tickles my brain. The game map now shows you where you are in comparison to the next story quest. It needs testing tho cuz it's very stylized

The combat system is in the game now. Is it perfect? No. But I am pretty happy with it, I think :D

(Now we just have to test it with someone!)

Okay, I have most of my combat mini-game. The last thing I need is better signifiers for the player -- 90% of it is gonna be in the NPC's appearance though. (This pile of hay was not originally gonna be for combat lol)

I am pretty pleased with this though!

Surprise late entry into #WishlistWednesday ... I added combat back into my combat-less JRPG XD

Need better UI for it, but these are the basic controls. There's an invisible progress meter at the moment. I think I'll have it so that if you get hit, your progress'll go back down (But no failstate)

Okay, we just got all the mini-games replaced! Next, we're replacing everywhere it says "Philosophy" with "Knowledge" since I think that's clearer about how to use it!

I FINALLY FIXED my Lantriculi. It now works as you would expect. It works POORLY, yes -- the AI is stupid. But it functions so I no longer gullotines over my neck.

Next. I think I am going to finish my "gameplay" pass, since we're knee deep in it.

Alternatively, instead of a soccer/herding mini-game, you could have a "chase the sparkle around the map" for casting??? I'm not sure which yet

But I'm leaning towards the herding in the above video because it's closer to the way casting works in lore esp. if I add multiple motes of magic to herd

So. I ate a raw potato. People CAN have an amount of raw potato but I'm a sensitive baby so I died.

Luckily, I got better. I did a bunch of little things (added 2 new footstep types, bigger hitboxes) AND I figured out how to get events to collide with themselves!😍😍😍
