This is definitely the character that seems most popular. I think the problem is they just revealed the worst character first so a lot of people were unwilling to give any of them a chance

There's a direct reference to Samus' true identity at the end of the manga and I think either the writer or artist had done some yuri stuff before. This was the era where Nintendo kinda didn't give a shit what happened in licensed works so it could've been intentional
