Actually, set my phone down to go to bed and I can tell I won't be able to sleep until I say a little more.

I've written this fairly sure no one will see it. I'm no one special. And I had to get it off my chest. It's been tearing a hole in my chest.

Especially as electricity is going to be more expensive, Bluesky will need to keep the lights on.

Am I being a party pooper? Yeah. But the butterfly invokes Larry the Twitter bird purposely. And I think it's important to keep an eye out for the sun of the blue skies. The sun can only rise so high.

Not in a "it needs to go" way, but this feels like the early days of those social media sites because Bluesky now has the same luxury they did at the time: not having to make monetization the priority.

For Facebook, our information became the product, once they had it.
For Twitter, it was our eyes.

I know that Bluesky is amazing. I've been basking in reading genuinely pleasant posts again. It's evocative of early Twitter, early Facebook, when those were places I really enjoyed being able to see people I cared about.

This can not last.
