Actually, the true last update is I've picked up home gardening (growing tomatoes is so much fun!) and picked up Ghanaian baking again ( 🎵 I have butter bread, sugar bread, tea bread... all types of bread 🎵 early 2000s Ghanaian diasporan meme song. If you know, you know)

Last update, I'm on research leave for the year as I finish up THE BOOK. This is very exciting, and the book proposal is DONE and ready to be sent out in a month 🥳

My DH & media poetry lab, The Global Poetics Project, had an amazing summer. The summer fellows were a brilliant team to work with, and we worked on producing & analyzing network models that highlight some important questions about genre in African lit.

Also, please feel free to say hi! I'd love to catch up with (and meet) folks, chat, grab lunch, explore the city, etc. 😊

As an exercise, look at your stack of books / folder of downloaded PDFs & try to name the processes that made those sources available to you. You are not a lone scholar! Reframe that as a net good and make that labor visible. Critical archival studies + critical data studies + media literacy.
