The New 3DS XL for me. You have access to the entire DS and 3DS libraries, and unlike the OG DS it has an analogue stick. Plus, you can’t really replicate the experience of a 3DS through emulation, its best games are all best experienced on that specific console.

I’m hoping that Mario doesn’t finish top, at the very least. He’s the least interesting character in his own series of games!

I hope you’re right, he was my number 1! There aren’t many character in the Mario universe with as much personality as him, he’s brilliant!

295 that I’m certain I’ve played. It’s amazing how many of these I’m not sure about - I may have played them, or it may be false memories!

I’m pretty sure the vote split is 10% public vote, 90% critic, so that levels the playing field in that sense; so that the vote can’t be manipulated as easily. There’s not a huge amount separating the sales of E33 and DKB, though - not that sales should dictate who wins GOTY.

(And I’ve just realised that I’m not sure if ‘smashed it’ is a thing in North America or if it’s just a British phrase…whatever the case, I mean that it’s been tremendous every bloody week!)

I know the negative people stand out a lot more even when they’re in the minority, but they absolutely are the minority.

I’m a hypocrite because I absolutely get hung up on that kinda thing - but you shouldn’t. This has been appointment viewing for so many people, you’ve absolutely smashed it.

That’s interesting - I’ve always found the original DQ games very inaccessible because of their age, but you might have sold me on this remake now.

The first 30-hours or so of the 3DS remake are tremendous, but it goes on 70-80 hours longer than it should and becomes a slog by the end. But it has a great premise, and with a ruthless editor could have been an all-timer for the series. It is, as you say, a fascinating choice.

I’m going to miss this feature when it wraps up, I can’t believe we’re nearing the end. Huge, huge credit to @bitnerd.gvg.io for all of this. It’s my favourite ever thing @gvg.io has done, and that speaks volumes given how brilliant your content is.

A few have really dragged for me - I’m wary of posting spoilers, but it’s the fights that go on for a never-ending runs of phases that just killed the game for me. I don’t remember that happening in HK, but there’s every chance I’m misremembering, it’s been a while since I played it.
