There are days when the paintings just happens. There is no grand plan, no pencil sketch, nothing more then a vague color direction. One impression leads to another thought and another layer…

In the days coming up to Stray Kids new release. I was painting this watercolor piece.
A new style and subject matter then my normal paintings. Do It was very on point. Sometimes it takes more courage to go with most of the pieces in place, than fully planning everything before beginning.

The subtle sparkle. I don’t use glitter often in my watercolors, but when I do it always feels like adding an extra bit of magic to the piece.

The leaves have started to cover the ground, and the air is turning chilly, but I’m reluctant to leave the inspiration of fall behind.

When a last minute suggestion for a SKZ / STAYSepal coloring page blooms into an idea, that turns into an afternoon project…and it works!

These little projects that others get enjoyment out of make me so happy, but boy, does the imposter syndrome hit along with those excited feels.

Almost at the end of this daily challenge then back to my normal of whatever strikes the mood.
Prompt 24: Door

In the darkness, there’s a door.
If you go in what will you find?
Adventure? Hope? Warmth?
The light beckons…

Prompt 21: Basket
Wandering the meadows and the gardens gathering the last of the flowers. Soon enough the weather will drive everyone indoors, but that’s not today. In a decision of the moment, the basket is set aside for one more chance to lay on the grass and watch the clouds go by.

Prompt 19: Ember

It was fitting this prompt came up in the art challenge, as the idea of embers has been a concept that I’ve been mulling over for a couple months now.

There are the literal embers from a fire that has almost burned out. (1/5)

Do I normally get up before 5 on a weekend? No.
Did I get up before 5 to watch Stray Kids’ final concert live this morning online? Yes, Yes I did!

Happy, tired, but energized like all STAYs who attended. Thank you for a great concert Stray Kids! Hope you can get some rest in the days ahead.

It’s an unexpected boost when you’re healing from being sick and miserably coughing, and not only do you get one watercolor completed but four more!

Painting is not just for the serious. It’s also for those who love whimsy.

I’ve painted for a week now after not doing much this summer at all. Seriously, doing an art challenge is a great way to kickstart consistency.

Mostly cleared. Time to art turned into time to reorganize because I was losing pens and paintbrushes beneath other supplies.

Practicing shapes, shading, and splitting my attention between #drawing and listening to the #football (soccer) game enough not to miss the shots on goal. (Also, the first #fall themed picture for this year.)

Due to #HobbitDay falling on a weekday, the menu this year is a little simplified, but that doesn’t dimish the fun. My kids have been anticipating this day since the calendar flipped to September. (Times etc vary some from what’s printed, those are more for my mental timing.)

Big sigh. Today my 10yr old excitedly said, Hey look it’s an old fashioned phone!”
It was a Motorola Razr.
I then had the joy of re-explaining landlines and watching the look of incredulity go over my audience’s face.

Games and F1 days have become my dedicated knitting sessions over the last year. Tying a hobby to another enjoyment allows me to feel like I’m getting things done, while still relaxing.

The winter creativity block is a challenge. Right now I’m in a “just create something” mode, but half the time I’m looking at my art supplies feeling like an imposter.

Filling in the box for “telling a little about yourself” is like asking me for an interesting fact during an icebreaker. “What do I say that won’t scare people off, is actually interesting, not showing quite how nerdy I can be….?”
