Try being a woman seeking healthcare in the States. Let alone a woman of color. I’ve been treated with such humanity and compassion by doctors in the EU that it quite literally made me weep and thank them for hearing me.

American living in Germany, I do not find this to be true. I’ve had to get appointments here without insurance and with, public and private, and have experienced no difference in treatment or wait times. However in the States I have had to wait months to see the obgyn and opted for PP walk-in hours

We’re watching a shift where AI simulates the cohesion and reinforcement that used to require an entire online community. A single person can now build a complete parallel reality with nothing more than a prompt window. Which seems bad.

That is beautiful indeed! I’m always thankful for the access I have to beautiful, fresh and delicious produce now.

Yes and also the SUGAR. I was astonished at how little added sugar there is in anything here. I would never drink fruit juice at home but here, there is 1/3 of the kcal because there are no added sugars or other chemical additives. It makes me so angry to think about what they’re doing to people.

I eat a similar diet here in Germany as I did in US (I’ve always eaten lots of produce and abhor processed foods). Costs are manageable and the food is SO much better/ flavorful. I have lost 20kg in the last year just because the food is better and I don’t need a car here. The food there is poison.

It really is more a question of cost. Cost of living is higher, our wages lower, and fresh produce is priced out of budget for a majority of Americans in a low income threshold. We don’t have affordable farmer’s markets in every city quarter. And the produce tastes like wet socks and rots faster.

Vegetables, fresh/frozen, in the US are significantly more expensive than other foods. When you have hungry kids to feed, a bag of frozen pommes frites is a quarter of the price of a bag of frozen vegetables and will keep their bellies full longer? This is the dilemma. Veg in EU also tastes better.

I LOVE living in a place where I am immersed in multiple languages and meet people from many different cultures and backgrounds. It is endlessly fascinating and the stagnation I felt living in a less diverse place was soul deadening.

The utter disdain that they have for anything that would allow for even the slightest spark of intellect, creativity, curiosity, critical thought. They literally hate and openly aim to dismantle the best of what we can be. How utterly boring they are and insist on us being.

Pretty disingenuous to label him as socialist and not Democratic Socialist; which, as the professional journalists committed to integrity that you are, must be a distinction of which you are all aware. Do better.
