The starving artist metaphor never quite worked. It suggested we were just underfed, overlooked, waiting for our chance.

But we’re not starving anymore.

We’re the meal.

Holding grief & gratitude for Alice Wong.

for every story she amplified, every syllabus she reshaped, every young (and not-so-young) disabled person who saw themselves reflected in her work.

May we honor her by carrying forward her organizing principle: access is love.

What haunts isn’t random.
It’s patterned.
Ghosts appear where systems fail and wounds fester—
in histories of slavery, colonialism, gender violence, state terror.

8:03 a.m., my smart speaker chirps in a perky femme voice.
We’re so used to these machines being eager to apologize, serve & obey.
Feminist scholars call this the perpetuation of the “servile female” stereotype in the digital realm.

“Computer” once meant a woman with a slide rule:
Katherine Johnson. Dorothy Vaughan. Mary Jackson. (among others)
They calculated orbits & flight paths that launched missions.

Remember the Black women who computed the sky. 🚀

Some potentials are worth preserving. Some can rot. I will mulch their remains into rich soil for feral joy.

I want to be happy when I read comments saying “I lived this too, and I never had the words for it”.

But the tears that prick my eyes are tainted with rage. Because none of us should ever have had to fucking live through that.

What if education aimed for a "pedagogy of wholeness"?

Rochelle Brock argues for teaching that fosters not just critical thought but also "knowledge of self, self-love, and wholeness of spirit".

Disability pride isn’t an inspiration porn photoshoot on the cover of Times magazine.

It’s emailing your insurance provider for the 47th time.
It’s pacing your energy like it’s currency.
It’s loving yourself even when your culture calls it laziness 💖

Disability justice is queer liberation. We don’t all march the same way… some of us REST in protest. 🌈

Let’s make Pride accessible!

5 years and 1 day since
George Floyd was murdered.

Investigations were promised. CEOs wrote checks. Media buzzed with lawsuits and pledges of action.

It’s 2025. How much has actually changed?👇🏻🧵

Trump’s official store is selling “Trump 2028” hats.
Yes, 2028…

…despite the Constitution’s 22nd Amendment barring a third term.

This isn’t just merch. It’s a message. 🧵👇🏻

It’s not just the chronic illness.

It’s the chronic misunderstanding.

Did you know that studies show women’s pain is often dismissed as psychological or “exaggerated” rather than treated seriously?

Research in U.S. emergency departments found that women are significantly less likely than men to receive pain medication… even when they report the same pain levels. 🥴
