Part of the great migration of 2024 looking for safe harbour. You know, a place that's the good kind of weird. Cornwall based movie and music lover.
Fantastic to see the word “boughten” on the record. My in laws still use that expression all the time.

Thanks for finding me Alun. I joined The Place of Angry People back when I was doing my Masters in History and it was still fun to interact with people. And I’ve just made the same move as you. Seems good so far - enjoy!

I haven't read Susan Cooper for yeeears! And ironically, when I did, it was during the part of my childhood I spent outside Cornwall so I never made the connection with Mevagissey at all. Great recommendations, thank you.

Wow, fascinating! I like the idea of a place we go to rest and decompress before we have to have another go at “this” (gestures broadly at 2024). Any recommendations for odd-friendly places in Cornwall btw?

Relatable. I’m a terrible listener and really struggle with audio books but seem to be okay with podcasts. Essentially a rural valley full of tents and people milling about. That seems to be a constant. But one woman said inside one tent was a screen showing births, human and animal.

Amazing stories! And I’d be fascinated to know if your experience of the place between incarnations was anything like the stories discussed on this podcast. Because the similarities intrigued me. open.spotify.com/episode/3JIH...

Just arrived and I agree, it's really nice isn't it? It looks just like "the bad place" but back when it was all fields.
