Normal person who enjoys the little things in life…discovering an easy recipe, doing a small household project, composing a piano piece or poem, listening to my cat eat…and a few medium-size things, like political activism, to try to make a difference.
Thank you from California!

I let go of my lifetime collection of business/calling cards. Reduced several boxes to a small baggie of samples. Super satisfying.

I got out of the house for a change this week and it was worth the effort. I rarely find a good enough reason to get out and interact with people. Tuesday, my reason was my first curbside protest. Highlight: A woman called me over to her car to ask about my sign about protecting social security.

And people who *inherited* IRAs are required to take required minimum distributions even before they’re 73. An inheritance is a good “problem” to have, I suppose, but I’m sure parents wouldn’t like knowing the dire outcome after their having worked and saved all those years.

@support.bsky.team Update: I’m realizing I likely misinterpreted the purpose of “Priority Notifications” as including notifying me if someone I follow has posted. I realize now that such alerts could get overwhelming, at least if I kept Notification sound on for Bluesky, but I was eager to find out.

Love this idea. And signs that say “Thank you, Ukraine.”

Finished putting together my tax package for my tax person in time for my self-imposed end-of-the-month submittal deadline. Feb 28 sure snuck up on me but I kept my promise. Feels good.

It hit my radar tonight that I haven’t yet lost the long, thin plastic cap that covers the blade on my cat’s Furminator after 15+ years of use.

When I went shopping recently, the egg shelves were almost bare. A man was pulling almost the last of several cartons from the shelves. I commented, “You’re stocking up!” He replied that he needs them for his business. I asked what he makes, and he said Doughnuts.

That’s Morgan in the photo by the plant. I hope I didn’t confuse things by adding my look-alike Jazzy.

My boy Jazzy says “Yowza.”🤣

Didn't Meta much, helping me be more productive than usual. Included re-visiting troubleshooting the floating horizontal pink and green lines that have plagued my 2007 Sony tv for years. My brainstorm to try my old, crappy non-metal-tip component cables has disguised the problem nicely.

Nov 6 I replaced MSNBC with A&E, and CNN with HLN (currently mostly or totally mystery shows). A year or so ago, when I switched my standard Spectrum TV plan to their 15-channels-plus-locals Choice plan, I knew it would save me money, but I didn’t know yet that it would later help save my sanity.

I’m one of those folks who reads the instructions, notices that they changed since the last time or don’t match reality, and contacts the manufacturer about it. My most recent episodes were about my new Bissell Fur Eraser vacuum user guide’s LED table and my Lotus Foods ramen cooking instructions.

You’ve gotta watch the YouTube video of Rick Beato interviewing Christopher Cross…the tidbit about his Sailing intro being a taping mistake was fascinating. That topic starts at spot 26:35.

I found this Submit a Request spot, but I don’t know if that’s the right spot. To get there I went to my profile, pressed the Notifications bell symbol, then (operating from memory here) some combo of Help and three-line menu symbols blueskyweb.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/req...

I have Spectrum’s Choice TV plan of 15-channels+local. After the election, I replaced MSNBC with A&E, and CNN with HLN, which nowadays shows true-crime dramas. Typically Spectrum allows only one channel swap per month, but they made an exception for me. Relaxing with Forensic Files now.
