Kirby is consistently great, you can’t go wrong with most of them. Even squeak squad (the least worthwhile, imo) is still based on a very well-designed game

The four composers that worked on Custom Robo and V2 did a really good job with the soundtrack. Shinji Hosoe in particular did a lot of my favorite picks.
Yasuhisa Watanabe also composed for Metal Black, which is mostly unrelated, but you NEED to check that game out

Huge shame that it’s basically a clone of a 5e clone. I doubt anything worthwhile will ever come out of Phantasy Star again 😔

Soulslikes lack the power-up aspect that makes metroidvanias really work, imo. Progression in the former is more about customizing your build than getting abilities that shake up how you approach scenarios

“Doesn’t respect your time” as in “takes a long time to get through” is a daft criticism that ignores how most mediums vary greatly in length and how some stories need to be long to work.
“Doesn’t respect your time” as in “doesn’t offer much for the time put in” is a bit more understandable, imo.
