Yes, you absolutely were! I also transcribed several shows on FOX News for a while, and it was obvious there was a through line across multiple shows when it came to messaging. While it was elucidating, I don't miss it!

One of my jobs is to transcribe cable news shows. I used to transcribe CNN's "Crossfire" back when he was on it. He seemed much more cogent then. Now, I didn't often AGREE with him, but he seemed to be sharp and on top of issues. FOX took him down a different path, let's say.

This reminds me of Tucker Carlson's "Crossfire" days. He lost his soul for an extended period, and who knows if he can ever redeem himself, but this interview seems a possible start.
