The folk of the Air by Holly Black

I had heard of Jude and when I found a set that was 4 of the five books with her and Carden I had to read it. Jude was such a strong girl from the very get go I loved her. Carden grew on me. And the sly spy stuff made me so giddy. It was a fun read.

Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig

The follow up to One Dark Window. I bought this halfway through the first book because I loved the characters and story. the end of the first had me gripped and I needed to finish. The character growth for sub characters was amazing. And it was great.

One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig

r/fantasyromance recommended this one. and I read the first few chapters then devoured it. I liked that instead of special girl with powers, Elspeth was a special girl whose powers had a personality. And the nightmare was a gr8 character as was Ravyn.

Fall of Ruin and Wrath by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I tackled this because I know it’s a loose connection to From Blood and Ash. It was a great contrast to Both Sera and Poppy’s stories. I actually liked Lis better as a main character. She was spunky and lovable

I felt really cute and surprising for the first time in a long while attractive today. I wish i could do makeup though. I look so… *insert former gender here * without it

3: From Blood and Ash by Jennifer l. Armentrout

Probably my most recent series read. The political tensions and growth of Poppy is fantastic. Hawke is a pompous ass that grows on you. And the reveals are intense. The series as a whole is fantastic and I’m sure the other books will be on this list

2: Dragon’s Blood by Jane Yolen
This I feel was the book that launched me into fantasy. I think it was 6th or 7th grade we had to read it for class but the story of Jakkin trying to make his life better and finding a means to escape his place in life resonated with me. And Hearts blood was best girl

1: Hyperion by Dan Simmons

This was one of the first books I read out of high school that I read purely for me. I had a friend recommend it to me and within the first few pages I was enraptured. The moral twists and turns. The terror that was The Shrike in and of itself. It all made the book great.
