Today's harvest. I'm really happy with the potatoes (these are from 3 plants). I've been picking strawberries for a while - they've been amazing this year. I'm high up in the peak district, so far more still to come from the plot in time 😁 #allotment

Advice needed! Wildlife pond filled with rainwater 1st Apr. It's not rained since, the water level is ~15cm lower than it should be, the pond is 50cm at its deepest. Loads of plants, including oxygenators. A frogs moved in already ❤️ Q - should I top it up with tap water? #wildlifepond #allotment

Build it and they'll come!! Toad (?I think) in the pond at the allotment, only built it 1 month ago!! Am absolutely thrilled!! 🐸 He/she's welcome to each and ever slug available!

Things are starting to get a little greener up at the allotment 🌱 potatoes were a tiny bit frost damaged last night, just a few and at the tips where they touched the fleece. But all things considered, doing ok 😁 #allotment

Just loved the last week or so up at the allotment - I've transplanted beetroot, spinach, kale, calabrese, radish, lettuce, all tucked up under fleece - going to be cold here tonight. So far so good on the bare root fruit put in over winter too 😁 #allotment

I have this rose, was the first David Austin rose I put in my garden - absolutely gorgeous yellow 💛 and absolutely bulletproof 💛

I don't think I've seen the garden look quite so lush/full at this time of year before (we're high up in the Peak District UK, zone 8b)

Snuck up after work 😁 potatoes planted (I hope not too early), shallots too, and I sowed a few field beans to fill the gaps. Still no activity from the bare root fruit I planted over winter. It's still super early for up here tho.

Pretty happy with my first oyster mushrooms, there's more little guys on the way too, after these have been harvested. I set up a bed at the allotment to grow them outdoors, but thought I'd try indoors over winter as well. Fascinating to watch them grow.

Fabulous day 😁 2 beds cleared, rotted manure added before covering to try & dry/warm up. Tidied up the strawberries. The soil is far drier than last year at this time, fingers crossed for an early spring #allotment
